Air
Why is it that your car tires never seem to need air in the summer - only in the winter when the wind chill feels like 100 below zero? Why is it that you can drive all around Sioux Falls to what seemingly feels like every gas station in the city, to try and fill up your tire(s) with air and all the of air hose chucks are broken? And why is it that some gas stations actually CHARGE you for AIR? I just got done spending almost an hour driving around Sioux Falls and stopping at several gas stations to fill up a tire, only to discover that either the hose chuck was broken, or the hose was missing altogether. And it's FREEZING outside!!!! I try to avoid the gas stations that charge you for air - for something you breathe free of charge, but when all else fails, I have resorted to paying for it.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I sure do miss the days of "Full Service" gas stations where someone would come out, pump your gas, clean your windows, check your oil, and even put air in your tires, all while you stayed in the warm comfort of your own car.
My Dad has a voicemail recording on his home phone that goes like this: "Remember when beer was 10 cents a glass? Well, those days are gone, and so am I." I love it! The first time I ever heard it, I laughed. But, in that little saying, truer words were never spoken. Reflecting on days gone by, there are probably a lot of things, if we took the time to remember, that we would love to bring back. I don't like change. When I was young, I loved change and spontaniety. I would get bored with the same old thing. But, as the years have passed, I have become more settled in my "rut", and prefer to be able to count on things to remain the same. As I type this, I am reminded that the Lord never changes. His word tells us that. He is the one constant, sure thing in this world that we can always count on, always rely on. He is the ONLY thing in this world that we can.

That is one of the attributes of God that encourages me the most that He is unchanging. So we can know with ALL confidentance that what His Word said 2000yrs ago is STILL good for us now.
