Camp

Guess what?! Mallory got to go to church camp this year! At first, I thought they had raised the age limit to the teens (that's what I was told). I thought that was odd because I remember my own kids going to camp when they were young (from this same church). Anyway, on Sunday, I decided to ask Pastor and he said he thought they had to be going into 4th grade. Well, that fits Mallory perfectly. So, I asked our youth pastor and she got to go! Nothing like trying to get a kid ready to go to camp for a week at the 11th hour! They were leaving the next morning at 9:30am. It was a good thing I had made Mallory 5 dresses and then Noel and I were running like crazy on Sunday afternoon trying to get the rest of her stuff lined up to go. Mallory was really excited. I've been praying for her all week that she would have a great time, not get homesick, have stomach aches, or sleep walk while she was gone. I really want her to have a wonderful time and get a big spiritual blessing out of it. So far (today is Wednesday), she hasn't called home so we are "assumming" everything is okay for her. The kids won't be coming home until Saturday morning. They are at a church camp up in Aberdeen somewhere. Other churches also bring their kids to this camp at the same time so there should be a lot of kids. Wish I had some pics to post but of course, not being there, I don't. Sawyer kept asking, "Where Mally go?" He'll be glad to see here when she gets home. She took a picture of she and Sawyer together with her to camp. Sweet.

Pics

I just had to post a couple of pics tonight of Jamison and Jaxson that I took today. I didn't get a really good one of Sawyer and Mallory wasn't here so will have to try another time for them. I just thought these pics were really cute of the boys. Can you tell they are brothers by the eyes?! Oh!...and a pic of my other "two" children beside me in the computer room.

Two S's

It's been quite the season for sickness. Sawyer got Roto Virus and ended up in the hospital because he was dehydrated and wouldn't drink anything. All he wanted was pink milk (Nestle's strawberry) and he couldn't have that. Like Noel said, "some kids need love, some kids just need pink milk". After he was all better, Jaxson came down with it. He didn't end up in the hospital because he would drink juice and gatorade. I can tell you, it's no fun taking care of a child with Roto Virus. They are VERY whiny and everything ingested is literally running out of both ends. I know because I was babysitting Jaxson while he was sick. His mom took two days off work but wasn't able to stay home with him for the full week. He is fine now so I hope everyone else stays well.

I have been busy sewing dresses for Mallory. She needs them for church. Noel and I have hunted and hunted for dresses for her but everything in the stores are too short and/or not modest enough. I've made two dresses for her so far and still have a stack of fabric. By the time I get them sewn, it will be time to sew some for winter!

Weather

It has been a wild evening for weather. It's been raining every day but today was a whopper. Here are some pics I took of the sky outside my back door this evening around 8pm. There were tornado warnings just to the west of us and there are still warnings out for other areas.

Miscellaneous Ramblings

Poor Sawyer is still sick. Once again, Noel and Chris took him back to the ER on Sunday night because he has severe diahrrea and isn't eating or drinking. They ended up admitting him and since I was waiting on phone calls last night, I was up tile 3am - again. A repeat of Friday night. It's probably Roto Virus and the hospital said it was going around really bad. Mallory has been staying at our house.

I am so tired tonight. After getting only 3 hours of sleep, I managed to go to Walmart at 7am, came home and baked chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting (yum!) for the kids, and canned 7 pints of asparagus and 25 pints of carrots, and mowed the backyard. My fanny is dragging and I can hardly keep my eyes open. I can sleep in an extra hour tomorrow morning though since Sawyer is in the hospital. We don't know if he will get to go home tomorrow or not. Depends on his input/output.

Sunday, as I was driving to Marion to pick up my grandsons to come back to Sioux Falls for church, I noticed a farm that had two fields of fence posts and on each fence post was an old boot - work and cowboy. As many times as I have driven that road, I had never noticed it before. I was going to take a pic of it but I couldn't get a decent closeup that would show several boots at the same time. It looked so weird to see all those boots on all those fence posts.

Well, enough said. I have just got to go get some sleep. Two nights til 3am and then up at 6am is just too much for this old gal. Nighty night!
