It's Been A Long Time

Well, it's been awhile....not much news to tell and winter is boring. Haven't done anything, haven't gone anywhere, no one has left me an inheritance and I haven't won Publisher's Clearing House. I still have two dogs, 6 grandchildren, and a husband - although I am trying to weed out the dogs.

Right now, I am in the middle of a hideous project - painting the inside of my house. I HATE to paint. And as if it weren't bad enough that all the rooms need to be painted, so does all the trim - doors, windows, mop boards. Right now, they are this grotesque peachy flesh color. Ugh! Since I am such a huge lover of primitive design, I m painting all of my walls my favorite Desert Castle by Glidden. It is a kind of sand color but lighter. It goes with everything. Then, all my doors, trims, etc. are all in a federal blue color called Dusted Indigo. I will say one thing, if you want a nice paint to go on walls, buy Glidden. It's great. However, my blue color is Color Place and it is horrible! Beautiful color but too gummy and it takes FOREVER to dry. My bathroom window is still tacky after a week! So far, I have only gotten the bathroom and the hallway by the bathroom, playroom, and sewing room done. The playroom is also painted but none of the woodwork in there has been done. I'm having a hard time trying to decide which room to do next. There is so much stuff in the livingroom to move and I also have to strip wallpaper in there. Another Ugh! The kitchen has to have all the cupboard doors removed....seems like every room is going to be a pain to get ready to paint. Wish I had the money because I would hire someone to come and do it for me. To top it off, the whole outside of our house and garage needs to be painted too.

I found this darling border paper that is so "me". I plan on putting it in the livingroom only it will be at the top of the wall where little kids can't pick it off when they are standing in a corner. After I get a couple of rooms done, I will try and take some pics and post them. I tried the bathroom but the room is so small that I can't seem to get the lighting quite right. Plus, I want to change out the curtains and shower curtain in there before I take pics. I found what I want from a great catalog called The Country House. They have lots of cool stuff for people like me who hate everything modern.
