Explanations

I need to explain something to those of you who might be new to my blog. My family already knows me well so they need none.

Our backyard is not pretty. It is flat out disgusting. We have very little grass. Most of it is either weeds or dirt (which becomes a lot of mud when it rains). Our yard is not very big.

However, because I love my grandchildren so very much, my backyard is for them to have fun in. We had to move the gazebo to the driveway (which we don't use because the garage is full of junk - my husband's junk - tools, snowblower, lawnmower, tool boxes, and piles of other miscellaneous crap). It is a single garage anyway. The gazebo originally sat where the pool now is, but we needed to move the pool to that spot to get out from under the many power lines that criss cross our yard. As you might notice, our garage is also in a desperate need of a paint job. The previous owners used the wrong kind of paint and it is peeling off the garage like skin from a bad sunburn - actually even worse. Since we need to power wash the garage and house to repaint it, it is one of those projects that is probably going to take a couple of years before we can get it finished (or get around to it!) We would like to replace our windows before we paint.

Anyway....back to my yard. The kids have a sandbox, a swingset, a huge pool, and multiple riding toys to play with back there. My yard is "kid friendly".

Some day....when my little babies are all grown....(sad sigh here..........) I might be able to have grass............................................

Step Back in Time

Words are not needed here.....(sigh.....)

Wedding

Remember the wedding Sawyer was in as ring bearer? Well, Mallory had to carry him down the aisle (surprise, surprise). Here are some more pics from the wedding.

Monster Trucks

Noel and Chris took Mallory and Sawyer to see the monster trucks. Sawyer didn't like all the noise but he sure did like his ear plugs!

My Silly Grandson

Sawyer really liked these pool goggles. They are the kind that covers your nose as well as your eyes. He wouldn't go in the pool but had a great time wearing them while he was swinging.

Summer Fun in the Pool and Backyard Barbeque

The kids have been having a great time in the pool. We had a pool party the weekend after it was set up. At the time, we needed new netting around our gazebo because our son's dog chewed the original off. We have since replaced it with a heavier duty green netting.

Swimming Pool

We had to buy a new pool this year since our lab chewed a hole in the one we had (which was round and 12 feet diameter by 3 feet deep). Since the grandkids are getting bigger and the adults want to cool off too, we got a bigger pool (round, 20 feet diameter by 4 feet deep). We had to take a tiller to the yard and level out the ground before we put down the ground cover. Here are some pics of the pool being set up and before there is any water in it.

My Little Ring Bearer

Sawyer has to be in a wedding. Doesn't he look sweet?
