Sickness and Disappearing Act
Once again, illness has hit the family. It can't be just a normal old cold. And for some reason, it always seems to be Sawyer. This time he has pneumonia - both lungs. He sounds terrible but at least he's home and not at the hospital. He's on a nebulizer which, when trying to give a treatment to him, is like trying to hold onto a greased pig. Noel and I had to both hold him down and even then it was still almost impossible because he won't hold his head still. We tried the face mask but that is even worse.I have to leave the house tonight. I made the big mistake of calling an 800 number on tv to put my name in a drawing for one of those Contour beds. Needless to say, I now have someone showing up at my door tonight to "supposedly" get information into my hands and they will then give me a $100 gift card for groceries. Yeah right. Anyway, no amount of telling them I wasn't interested in a visit, had any effect. So, I told hubby to hide in the basement and watch tv tonight and I would take off and go to Walmart to get a few groceries. Hopefully, the sales rep will be long gone by the time I get home and if they call me back, I may have to resort to just hanging up on them in order for them to get "my message". Why won't people ever take "NO" for an answer?
Transcribing Is Hard Work
Have any of you ever taken an old Bible that you have and transferred all your notes into a newer Bible so that you don't lose them? What a pain! I'm in the process of doing that right now and I can't help but wonder if Jesus won't come back for us before I ever get done.
Odds and Ends
My driveway was really interesting this morning. It's a horrible thing when it's dry because it's like driving up a steep hill. With the ice on it this morning, no one could drive up the thing. Had to get my ice melt out of the back of my car and throw some out or my poor mailman wouldn't have even been able to deliver the mail (no loss there!) Noel got off work early and picked Mallory up from school. I was terrified to try to get both my little boys out to the car and I knew I would never get my car back up the driveway. I wasn't about to try and carry both the boys through the yard to get into the house.Tonight, I feel yucky - like I'm getting a cold. Doesn't surprise me because everyone else around me has one. Think I will put my jammies on and go to bed.
Christian TV
Sorry, but I need to get on my soap box.I love Christian television - not all of it, but I have certain programs that I REALLY LIKE to watch - especially on Sunday night after church. Well, ever since our Christian station changed over to Daystar feed, the Christian station STINKS. And I mean that in big bold capital letters. I have managed, however, through trial and error and having to have a dvr, to find some of my programs. Most of them are no longer on Channel 30 which is here in town. Now, most of them are on another channel altogether. Plus, some of them are on channels that you have to have a digital receiver or a dvr in order to access those channels. A couple of my programs aren't on any station now and I am forced to come sit in my computer room in order to watch them. It is so aggravating! I loved coming home from church on Sunday nights, getting my jammies on and snuggling up in bed to watch my programs. Can't do that any longer because I have to have the dvr to see them and that is in the living room. And I am not about to pay more every month for a couple more dvrs so I can have one in my bedroom and one in my sewing room. Grrrrrr!!!!!!!About the only other thing I watch on tv is cartoons - specifically Noggin and PBS Sprout, although I do watch one other cartoon on the Disney station which has also gone to the dogs as far as programming goes. I'm sorry, but I can't stand watching shows like The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana, and some of that other garbage that teaches kids to be mouthy, bad mannered, have bad attitudes, and be disrespectful. My granddauther gets so mad at me because I won't let her watch that stuff. I'm telling you people - that junk pollutes our kid's minds! What happened to the good old Disney programs like Jo Jo's Circus and Roly Poly Oly? I really must be getting old. Anyway, I just needed to vent my frustrations about tv. Terrible to think we are paying to watch a square box that has nothing but trash on it anymore. That's it for my two cents worth (or maybe a dollar!)
I'm Back!
Well gang...I deleted my blog for awhile thinking I didn't want to do it anymore and then I had family members tell me that they liked being able to go in and read it so I had to recreate it. Amazingly, all my old chatterbox comments and profile were still there. I had had the foresight to save all my widgets in my word processing program so all I had to do is copy and paste them back in. How do you like my new template?I was really torn by the last one I had just put in from Pyzam and this one, but decided to try this one for awhile. Not much going on...I've had grandchildren for the last two weekends so it has been kind of chaotic but I enjoyed it. I don't know about any of you but I am more than ready for spring and I know the kids are too. What I dread is my two big dogs being covered in mud once it all starts to thaw. That will be the end of them being allowed into the livingroom!
